For the Minimalist Adventurer

Backpacks are great, but they can become hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable. They also store weight higher on the body, raising your center of mass and affecting balance. In pursuit of a better solution, we created the Ranger Hip Pack to accommodate your gear and provide convenient accessibility in a comfortable design.
Waist Belts on this Production Ran Small. Recommended for 24-36" waists!

This is a closeout style. It cannot be returned for a refund. It may be returned for store credit.

It’s a killer hip pouch. Why? Lots of room, mindful accessories, like the double water bottle holder, key loop, inside pockets, etc. Comfortable belt that is wide and adjustable. I have owned many hip pouches and this is definitely in the top 3.

Nice that it's waterproof . A bit too stiff. Wish it had capacity to hold regular size water bottles on the outside.

The belt length is just barely long enough to latch around my waist at full length. I guess that means I need to ride more to shrink the waist. I wish it was a few inches longer in case I wanted to wear it over cold weather clothing. I'll try it tomorrow on a ride.

Unfortunately the pack did not fit well. I'm a 36inch waist the with all the straps loose it was a snug fit and already at the end of the strap. Other reviewers have commented on the small size as well. I would not be able wear it over any outerwear as I had hoped. It seems to be a cheap and easy design fix to add a longer strap in the production . Pack would be okay if you are less than 160lbs. I returned the item.

Great product. Use it for bikepacking. It holds quite a bit. I’ve loaded it up with electronics, food, toiletries, cables, wallet, etc. Stuffed my Showers Pass rain jacket in with it all. It’s nice to have it attached to me so I can keep my valuables in it and know where they are, plus can carry it around with me off the bike or toss it in my tent at camp. Haven’t used it in a proper rain yet, but it kept everything dry while riding in the summer fog/mist on the Northern California coast.

When it’s tightened properly with the straps, I never noticed it on me while riding and it didn’t rub against my fully stuffed seat bag hanging off the back. It’s very comfortable and doesn’t shift around even while up pedaling out of the seat.

Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a hydration/storage solution.

Pack is just the right size for flats fishing, holds several fly boxes, extra leaders and tippet and some tools. Not submersible but waterproof. Waist strap is very short. I'm a 36"waist and strap is tight even fully extended. Any bigger waist, or bulky clothes, and it wouldn't fit.

Really like this pack. It fits great and the volume for contents is wonderful. I would like to have seen better zipper pulls on this pack as the water resistant zipper is stiff and I have already broken the zipper pull. Otherwise great for cycling and fly fishing.

Excellent hip pack.Fully loaded I don't even feel it on my hip while cycling. Like all showers pass gear it is well thought out and very durable. It is the best outdoor gear on the market that I have tried. I don't even bother shopping elsewhere.
Cheers Bernie

First off I have used my fair share of hip bags for a while now. None have compared to this. When I saw it Velomag I decided to give it a try. It has plenty of room to carry everything I need for my gravel rides but it doesn't feel like a big bag while wearing it which is great! It looks, feels, and is durable. The ranger has replaced all my other hip bags to the point that I have just given them to friends to make space in my closet.

We found this bag in Velo Mag and bought two for our gravel riding adventures this summer. Really pleased with the fit and the comfort of the bag on the bike, the bag does not jostle around at all and it sits on the hips very well. Surprised that the bag came with a water flask as well that fits right into the pocket. We got blasted on Day 1 of a 3 day trip with some summer showers and the bags performed as advertised as the contents were dry and safe, including our phones, camera, battery bank and snacks and such. The bag can haul quite a bit of gear as well which is very helpful. Happy customer.
