Care Guide

We recommend washing your rain gear regularly relative to use to ensure extended performance.

Hand or machine wash in cool water with a detergent designed for outerwear. Avoid fabric softeners.

Hang dry or tumble dry low. Avoid excessive heat. Seam tape can fall apart in a dryer, and it is not a pretty sight.

It is my favorite thing. I was riding in a total downpour yesterday. My pants were soaked, my shoes were splashing out water every stroke. My socks were waterlogged. The padding on my helmet is still wet. My Shower's Pass jacket was amazing. My entire upper body was protected 100%.

Fantastic waterproof breathable jacket I've used for decades, buying occasional replacements is my size changed. Always dependable, long-lasting and I like the goldenrod for visibility. Also like the detachable Hood so it's not bunching up behind me or hot when I don't need it which is most rides. But the AI bought is awful. I'm trying to buy another one as a gift and it keeps popping up not only initially when I get it to close. But on every subsequent window when I click next on my purchase. I even told the I bought to close the pop-up window and to please stop prompting me. It said got it, stopping, and I closed the window. I was then prompted to give a thumbs up or thumbs down as to whether that solved my problem. I gave a thumbs up, you guessed it, a I bought window popped right back up. In the middle of what I'm trying to read on the screen about the product, not even in the lower right of the screen. Please Showers Pass, either have the company you've contracted with to use their product modify it for your use or change companies. It will be worth your breaking the contract cuz I think you'll have increased sales.

Thanks for the praise and for being a loyal customer! We're glad you love the jacket and appreciate the visibility features.

The product is a high quality product that is very well made and waterproof!! I was glad I finally broke down and purchased it. It has been a very wet spring so far.

I purchased my jacket at Backcountry in 2025. I've used the jacket on numerous wet rides, mostly on long tours. The jacket is definitely waterproof and breathability is pretty good all things considered. I really like the blue color. The color offers good visibility, but with a more subdued take when off the bike. All in all a solid jacket for long rainy days on the bike. Given the price of the jacket, there are some points I am less happy about. First, the decision to sell a pricey, heavy duty rain jacket without a hood as a standard feature is perplexing to say the least. I understand the design choice for a detachable hood, but to sell a hood as a $35 "upgrade" is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is waiting over eight months and there is still no availability for a medium or large size hood. The customer service AI Bot indicates the hood might be available in June 2026 and then proceeds to bombard me with follow up offers for a sized small hood. Needless to say, you probably already guessed what might second AI generated customer service criticism might be...

Excellent water repellant. No leaks after 60 min solid rain. Breathability barely enough at low exertion. Really miss the two pockets most jackets have. Need some place for my gloves when doing something that requires me to take them off.

The Elite III runs quite large in the body. I am 6'-1" and 180 lbs and ordered a large, but I was swimming in it. I did return it and I am waiting for the medium to come back in stock. I rated it with 5 stars as the construction is outstanding and several other members of my group have this jacket and love it.

It looks pretty nice. But, this is too large for me. The sleeve are especially long. I ordered the large because I bought a double century jacket a while ago in a medium and thought a large would be better. I'm 5"11, weigh 178, arm length is 34

Purchased for bicycle touring. Construction and quality are excellent, and cycling specific features are the best. I used the fit guide on the web and found the measurements to be true.

One of the best cycling rain jackets. The only complaint is the the zipper is wrong-sided

If you want a jacket that will truly keep you dry and comfortable this is what you will want to wear. Quality is found throughout with the fabric to the zippers. The jacket is made to last for years to come. Bravo Showers Pass!!

We bought the pacific blue jacket a little over 2 years ago. Color started fading a few months back. You can see patches of the dark blue (original color) and the faded blue all over! For something in this price range, you would think that the material would be of higher quality. We were advised “this is normal”. No issues with the golden rod color.

Had one of these jackets for more than a decade. It was bombproof and kept me warm and dry through countless rainy and chilly rides. Ventilation is great. Threw it in the washing machine every so often, and it came out looking practically new and strangely even more waterproof each time. A seam around the collar finally gave way a few weeks ago and I decided to give myself a new year's present and replace it. New version seems just as indestructible, with some improvements to the zippers. Had a great first rainy ride with it, and am looking forward to another decade with this one.

Love this jacket! I replaced an SP Elite III jacket I've had since 2016. I wore it so much the seam tape was falling off. At 6' 200#, the XL is a little too big, however, I like it because you can wear a few layers underneath without the jacket feeling tight atop insulating layers below. Also, I wear a 6-liter hiking waist pack with first aid and EDC items, and the bag fits under the rear of the jacket easily and out of the rain. The core zips are perfect for regulating temps in hot or cold weather and the jacket lasts a long time; nine years of riding in my experience. It also works as a wind breaker (not a primary function) on cooler days, and it has the bright color and reflective accents to alert drivers of a cyclist ahead or oncoming.
