Men's PORLITE Refuge Pant

I bought size M of Men's PORLITE Refuge Pant after carefully checking the size chart. I'm 5'9" and weigh 154 lbs. There was plenty of room in the pants, possibly too much, but without going for a ride I can't say for sure. Length was a problem so I returned the pants. The size chart says the inseam maximum recommended measurement is 33" and that 1-3" shorter is ideal. I find that to be untrue - the knee gussets did not line up with my knees and rubbed with every pedal stroke.

The pants in general are fine. I initially purchased these pants and could not open the leg/thigh zippers. Returned for exchange. Replacement pants had same issue. Contacted ShowerPass for guidance to open/close zippers. Krystal was great in her response and recommendations.

These are great, I was worried there wouldn't be enough room in the hip/thigh which is often the case for me with pants but these fit great. I have great access to movement and they kept me dry. I wish the velcros on the legs had a longer area for me to be able to shrink the leg diameter further.

Overall pleased with pants. Disappointed on functionality of leg/thigh pocket zippers. Cannot open without struggling and almost impossible to close once opened. Contacted Showerpass for guidance. Krystal was fantastic providing guidance and support.

I bought the Refuge Pants again when my original one got stolen. The updated Portlite Refuge is a little tighter, thinner, and hence lighter than the original. The side zipper vents are super stiff and hard to use. I’m undecided if the upgrades are better but I loved the original design. Otherwise, I really like the reflectivity and design for cold, wet, and dark winter cycling.

As a year round commuter in Oregon, you can tell the people who design these pants actually ride in the rain. I've tried SO MANY different water proof pants and these outshine them by miles. Most pants feel awkward without a liner, and limit your movement, these do neither. All their waterproof stuff is top notch.

Side vent zippers won't open all the way, they get stuck about half way open and have to fight to get them to work at all.
They also run a bit small.

The same great features I loved in my old Refuge pants, now PFAS free! I sized up and use the 4-Point Suspenders for easier layering and on/off over shoes. I finally got a good wet ride in with my new pants, they are my ultimate year-round commuting pants!

Excellent so far . Showers pass stands by their products. I used the Refuge pants before. after taking good care of them I never washed them and only wore them when the rain was really bad the water repellent just disappeared. I spoke with them and they gave me a great deal on the Porlite Refuge pants . Time will tell.

Item was a Christmas gift to my brother, unfortunatley he hasn't had a chance to test these out in really cold/windy conditions, but given that they are a compliment to a Refuge, jacket purchased a few years ago, there is no doubt that they will perform as expected. The quality of meterials and workmanship is very good, fit is loose (he is 5'8", 162lbs), ideal for layering and the design makes it suitable for winter cycling - i.e. +/- 0F
